HELPS Medical Team

WHEN: In February of each year, a team of healthcare professionals from Michigan and Ohio travels to Guatemala.

WHY: To provide free medical and dental care to underpriviledged people in Guatemala.

Medical disciplines represented include general surgery, gynecology, pediatric ophthalmology, plastic surgery, podiatry, anesthesiology, family practice, Internal medicine and dentistry. They bring doctors, nurses, dentists, CRNA’s, allied health professionals, and support staff. A construction crew also builds smoke-free cooking stoves in homes.

As their week in Tecpan came to a close, (this February 2013) the team’s impact can be seen in the final tally of the patients they cared for:
Total clinic visits: 1586
Dental clinic visits: 266
Surgeries: 284

COST: Our ministry sponsors one individual and provides laminated prayer cards for a cost of $3000. We are seeking underwriters for this vitally important project.

Hope and Healing Spiritual Gift Baskets

WHEN: The project first began with a handful of printed prayer cards and six gift basket delivered to oncology patients in the Cleveland Clinic Health Care System during Christmas in 2006. With your contribution we will continue to grow each year.

WHY: Holistic care must include the spiritual dimension for healing.

COST: We are seeking underwriters for this vitally important project. Our annual spiritual Christmas gift basket project costs $2,500/per year.

Sets of prayer cards (50 illustrated with quotes) for hospital, hospice or rehab centers are $10/set wholesale. Minimum order of 10 sets. Large font prayer cards are also available for nuring home residents.

God and God’s beauty can be a powerful component of healing in the midst of suffering.
When the art of healing integrates faith, patients find hope.
