The Mute Swan Ministry introduces a new artist, Barbara Woods, in our south Florida location. Barbara grew up in Jupiter, Florida and raised her family in Boca Raton. Artistic in temperament, she began sketching and painting during Covid. During this time her beloved husband Jeff Woods, lost his battle with cancer.
Debra and Barbara, both recently widowed, met at a grief group at church. They were the only two in the group in June of 2020. To cope with their grief, they began painting abstracts together and their paintings became a form of healing and prayer. Barbara enjoys watercolor, sketching, acrylic and paint pours reflecting both her spiritual journey and the beauty of the ocean near her home.
Barbara's natural gift has flourished. She has partnered with Debra to create "The Mute Swan" prayer cards, as she continues creating on her journey through grief towards God's Beauty.
